SEOUL, May 13 (Yonhap) -- Ryu Hyun-jin (35) of the Toronto Blue Jays, who is coming back as a starting pitcher after he was injured, made a donation.

The Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation announced on the 13th that Ryu Hyun-jin donated 100 million won for the treatment of children with cancer to the foundation in line with the Family Month (May is known as family month in South Korea).

The donations will be used to support treatment expenses for patients with pediatric cancer and rare incurable diseases.

Since 1991, the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation, a specialized pediatric cancer support organization that supports pediatric cancer patients and their families in Korea, has been implementing various support programs, including support for treatment costs.

"I'm happy that I was able to support at least a little bit to the pediatric cancer patients and their children," said Ryu Hyun-jin. "While hoping that these kids will be able to be healthy and happy, I will continue to pay attention to these children."

On the other hand, Ryu Hyun-jin is planning to return after his injury, in Tropicana Field, Saint Petersburg, Florida, United States on the 15th.
