SEOUL, Jan. 29 (Yonhap) -- English Premier League(EPL) Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min, who is taking a rest due to a leg injury, suggested that he will soon return to the ground.

The captain of the South Korean national football team posted a photo of him stepping on the ground wearing football boots on his social media page on Jan. 28.(KST) with the caption “Soon” and thumbs up and football emojis.

This could be interpreted that Son has recovered from injury well enough to play in the game soon.

Son has been focusing on treatment and rehabilitation while being excluded from the team's performance due to his leg muscle injury after the first leg of the Carabao Cup semifinals against Chelsea on Jan. 6. Accordingly, he failed to join the South Korean national football team, who played the seventh and eighth leg of the final qualifying round against Syria and Lebanon in the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Antonio Conte, the head coach of Tottenham, said on Jan. 22, “Son is recovering well,” adding, “We will have to wait until the end of the A match break” in terms of his return.

Since Son’s injury, Hotspur has been slowing down with two wins and two defeats in four games. The team was eliminated from the Carabao Cup by losing to its rival Chelsea twice and experienced the first defeat in the Premier League since Conte was assigned.

After the A match break, Tottenham will play the fourth round of the English Football Association(FA) Cup(round of 32) against Brighton & Hove Albion on Feb. 6 and play the regular season against Southampton on Feb. 10.
