SEOUL, Jan. 5 (Yonhap) -- A media artwork will be displayed on a large electronic board at the COEX convention center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Kang Yi-yun’s special exhibition will be held at the Coex K-pop square, from Jan. 1 to Mar. 31, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Arts Council Korea, Wednesday.

Kang’s artwork “0.4” is displayed 20 times a day from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., through a giant LED screen measuring 81m wide and 20m high.

‘0.4,’ is built on the discussions of humans and nature and raises awareness on environmental issues starting from COVID-19.

The artwork uncovers the uncomfortable truth of Earth and the mysterious vitality of nature that mankind has ignored. Through this, “0.4” delivers the message that humans should not be the only ones treated and cured.

Kang, an artist who has been active in Korea and other countries, is the only Korean artist to participate in the global project “Connect, BTS,” in 2020.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Arts Council Korea created the “Healing Arts Project” (translated) to support the people coping with the pandemic with art.
