SEOUL, Jan. 28(Yonhap) – K-pop girl group April has disbanded after its 6 years of performances.

The agency DSP Media announced its official statement on Jan. 28, "After a long discussion with April members, the agency has come to the decision to disband the team and have the members walk on their individual paths.”

DSP Media said, "We ask for your support and attention to the 6 members who will take a new path," adding, "We thank the fans who cheered on the girls for the past 6 years."

April debuted with "Dreaming” in August, 2015, and drew attention with songs, including “Tinker Bell," "The Blue Bird," and "April Story," showing off their pure and lovely concept.

However, the controversy arose when a former member Lee Hyun-joo revealed through the social media last year that she was assaulted and bullied by the members when she was performing as April.

In response, other members stated through the fan café that Lee’s claim was not true, and the former and current members engaged in a fight on social media.

Meanwhile, DSP Media will soon be acquired by RBW, an agency of the group MAMAMOO.
