SEOUL, May 20 (Yonhap) -- As SEVENTEEN’s comeback is just a week away, the pre-orders of the group’s new album have surpassed 2 million copies.

According to the agency Pledis Entertainment and record distributor YG Plus on Friday, the pre-orders for Seventeen's fourth full album "Face the Sun" surpassed 2 million copies at home and abroad.

The group broke its record of exceeding 1.74 million pre-orders on May 3rd.

The agency said, "The group broke its record leaving a week of its comeback,” adding, “There is attention to what new record Seventeen will set with this album.”

Accordingly, Seventeen's new album is expected to continue its “million-seller” record for the sixth time.

Since the group’s third full album "An Ode" dropped in September 2019, they have sold more than a million copies of each album, including "Heng:garæ," "Semicolon,” "Your Choice," and "Attacca.”

The group is also expected to set a ‘double million seller’ (sales of more than 2 million copies) with the 4th full album.

Seventeen plans to release “Face the Sun” on May 27th and 1 p.m.

The album, which honestly expresses wanting to be like the sun, which is the only one in the world but has a great impact, includes nine songs, including the title song "Hot," "Darl+ing," and "Domino."

Seventeen will open its comeback show through Hybe Labels YouTube channel, Naver Now, and Line Music on May 28th at 7 p.m.

Seventeen, which debuted in May 2015, is considered one of the top boy groups in South Korea.

The boy band, which was loved for the songs “NICE,” “Pretty U,” “Oh My!” and “To You” at home and abroad, has recently released an English song to broaden its activities in the American market.
