SEOUL, May 28 (Yonhap) -- The crime action movie "The Roundup” starring Ma Dong-seok surpassed 5 million viewers on the 27th, the 10th day of its release.

"The Roundup," which was released on the 18th, attracted 4,754,000 audiences until the previous day and added about 250,000 people on the same day.

According to distributor ABO Entertainment, this is the largest audience record among Korean films released after the outbreak of COVID-19.

In addition, "Spider-Man: No Way Home," the highest-grossing film during the pandemic, surpassed 5 million on the 14th day of its release and "Doctor Strange 2" on the 13th day, reaching 5 million viewers at the fastest speed.

Attention is focused on whether “The Roundup” will be the first Korean film to surpass 6.88 million viewers as the film “Ashfall” which was released in December 2019, achieved 5 million for the first time in 882 days.

“The Roundup” is a film that depicts the story of Detective Ma Seok-do(Ma Dong-seok) heading to Vietnam to knock down the suspect Kang Hae-sang(Son Seok-koo), who has committed crimes against tourists for many years.
